Baked Eggs (Huevos al Plato)

Huevos al Plato            Serves: 6  

Notes: A simple morning dish and everyone loves it.

Directions:

1 Preheat the oven to 350 F. Lightly butter 6 individual cazuelitas or au gratin dishes. For each dish place a slice of ham or 1/6 of the chopped chorizo on the bottom, break two eggs into a saucer, slide them on top of the ham or chorizo, and dizzle with 1 tablespoon melted butter and 2 tablespoons milk


2 Bake 10 to 12 minutes, until the whites are set and the yolks are still soft. Sprinkle with salt and pepper, and serve immediately from the baking dishes. (Place each on a serving plate, to protect the table.)

Ingredients:

6 Thin Slices boiled or baked ham or 2 medium-size chorizos, finely chopped
12 Large Eggs
6 Tablespoons - (3/4 stick) salted butter, melted
3/4 Cup - Milk or half-and-half
Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
